LeonARTo has been specifically designed for people who do not enjoy frequenting art galleries, don't want to pay inflated art gallery prices, but want something better than a poster or cheap prints, generally available from places selling dishes.

LeonARTo specializes in selling fine art print editions, mostly signed by the artist, numbered limited editions, some starting at the price of a poster, most of them affordable and all at a discount from gallery prices. Many come from the best American and Canadian artists, art Publishers, and liquidating art galleries. We now publish many of our own art editions. All items are new. We try to offer you the most quality for your money.

Here is a very basic guide to navigating our site. LeonARTo is an art consultant (and a site). Consultants need information to help you. LeonARTo is here to help you find the art you want and also to educate you on the art business. Once you start to use him, you will find it fun, fast, and easy to use his powerful search tools. Who wants to look at all those thumbnails and loading graphics when you can see just what you want quickly and easily. Your time is valuable.

If we don't have it, we have something similar to it, can find it for you or can have it custom painted it for you.
Every time you come to our site, a new image will be staring you right in the face in the center area of the home page. These are our most striking pieces of art and we mean to have you buy them!

The area to the right of the home page tells you what we are all about as a site and offers you entree to our significant knowledge of art educational materials, many of which will be offered to you, free, in downloadable articles.

Now, starting our explanation of how are site works. From the home page, our quick search feature (left side of the page) enables you to start your art searches. Our three unique “Ask LeonARTo” interfaces: consultant, find art, and custom paint have been designed with you in mind.

A new feature, Best Fine Art Bargains, enables you to go to either Art-4-Less or Art-4-Evenless, both with new interfaces and both ofering our best everyday deals.

Using LeonARTo as an art “consultant” is as easy as a four- step process, allowing LeonARTo to reduce the number of items to show you from thousands to a very few, all meeting your criteria. Use it! Its fun!

“Find Art” and “Custom Painting” are features that assume you can't find it directly, based on your site search. We will either find it for you or custom paint your item to your specifications. We have great Art Industry connections and can arrange just about anything!

Next are the traditional art searches you expect: by artist name, by subject, and by art type (original, limited edition, sculpture, etc.). Just pull down the menu, chose what you want to see, and click on the ‘go” button and your art will be displayed. We have added a keyword search, if that is the way you like to search either art or other sites. Just type it in and we'll search our database for the closest matches.

The Quick Galleries feature (on the bottom left) is different every time you come to the site. The purpose here is to highlight: special offers (like the 30% off area), distinctive artists, special subject matter, best selling items, staff picks, and the like. Just click on the text and you will immediately be taken to these special items or areas.

You can use the image at the top of the page for other general navigations. We would really like you to register with us for our periodic newsletters, which enable you to be kept up to date and qualify you for additional savings. Review our Contact and About Us pages to get a sense of who we are and how we do business.

Now for help for our detailed do-it-yourself search, you just click on that link from the left side of home page at the bottom our quick search box..

First thing you will see is the Sample our site link. That will give you an overview by artist of a significant part of our work.

For purposes of the detailed search, you can search all of our galleries (including the new Art-4-less and Art-4-Evenless at once. If you make a mistake in navigation you can always click the back button to repeat that step. In addition, we provide gallery navigation buttons so that you can go anywhere in LeonARTo easily.

You than have a choice of searching using LeonARTo's unique 4 step process, searching for work by broad category, or looking in a specialized subject area (gallery). The site is based on LeonARTo showing you art you want, not making you wait for art you don't want to see, but you have to make the choices. Otherwise, LeonARTo feels unloved and under utilized. Many sub-galleries will allow for an A-Z search, where you can see everything without making choices.

In addition there are two pull down menus for artist names, linked with type of work, and specialized subject areas (gallery) to get you to specific needs faster.

We have added some additional search tool shortcuts which will enable users to find what they are looking for faster. There are 5 buttons under the LeonARTo's... image (Liquidations, Hi-End Gallery, Published Art, Best Deals, and Favorites). Each area contains more specific groups of fine art items, chosen by LeonARTo, to either save you lots of money or to point out their distinctiveness (like the rotating quick galleries on the home page).

When you are looking at the art selected by you or LeonARTo pay attention to the banners or "ditties" that are shown at the top of the page. They alert you to more sales on the site, inform you about artists and their work available on the site, and give you general information about art, the art business, and the production of art.

WHY LeonARTo INSTEAD OF THE USUAL WAY OF SEARCHING ART SITES?

How many art gallery sites have you visited? Most are the same, and we should know because we had several of them before inventing LeonARTo. Most contain thumbnail images for you to browse and a link to a larger image with more information. Typically, although there may be some indexes to help you find what you want more quickly, search is a process of going “item to item” and waiting for graphics to load. This method is time consuming and does not take what you want to see into consideration.

Than there are the sites driven by databases, these sites ask you to type in a key word, fill in several parameters, all at once, and than "no matches found" or if your conservative in your selections, "500 matches found" and there you are, browsing through the same thumbnails again. Many of you also come to an art gallery without predetermined artist or subject desires and want help finding something appropriate and within your budget.

In many cases, art galleries want you to call and are not equipped to do secure e-commerce. We presume that what you want is a fast and easy way to search an art site, based solely on your search criteria and than the ability to buy what you want easily and securely.

THE RATIONALE FOR USING LEONARTO AS AN ART CONSULTANT

We invented LeonARTo because we wanted to make it easy for visitors to access our vast portfolio of items quickly and provide a little fun to their experience. What better way is there to do this than to provide you with a "character" in this case a smart" art consultant to help you with your choice? That is why we created LeonARTo.

Let's assume you come to LeonARTo.com and don't know specifically what you want. If you chose to use our smart search, LeonARTo takes you through a four step, progressive process, the purpose of which is to have you see only those items that meet all of your criteria.

You start by indicating the extent of your art budget. Come on, you do have an idea of what you would like to spend, don't you? Why look at items completely above or below your budget. Answering this principal question limits the number of items that you will see. You can always go back later and adjust this amount, so pick a range and let's get going. Remember that once you pick an item from the menu, you need to click on the go button to register your choice.

Now we get to the crux of the matter! What are you interested in by subject matter? We make this choice easy for you by allowing both a general subject choice and a specific subject choice, one choice of each at a time, so that you can see your results prior to going on to the next choice.

The purpose of the General Subject choice is too try to get your opinion of what you are interested in without being too specific. Choose one! You must get it by now that LeonARTo is smart enough to consider your budget, edition type, and general subject preference together and indicate to you what is available for you. You always get a match, and you are only shown items that are within your search parameters. You are now given the option to see what you have chosen or you can go forward to select a more specific subject category or back to change your choices.

Well, assuming that you chose to continue to specific subjects, you will only be shown those subjects that match your earlier decisions. Make your final choice, click go, and now LeonARTo has shown you the art you want!

Wasn't that cool and fast? LeonARTo will not leave you as you look at your choices, continuing to give you hints and tell you about the work in the portfolio. There are 6 items on each page for fast loading and an ability to start your search over again, as well as other convenient buttons. Low and behold "add to shopping cart buttons" are there for your secure ordering convenience.
